Interbit Data Welcomes William Osler Health System to the NetDelivery Family

William Osler Health System in Brampton, Ontario, Canada is our latest satisfied client for NetDelivery, Interbit Data’s report distribution solution. Osler is one of Canada’s largest community hospital corporations, employing more than 4,700 staff members and 740 physicians.

NetDelivery is being used by numerous departments across Osler to help speed delivery times and reduce costs while giving them a reliable means to track and confirm report delivery—something they were struggling with prior to implementing NetDelivery.

Now the reports created and interpreted by the diagnostic imaging department and the test results generated by the laboratory are distributed through NetDelivery. The Health Information Management (HIM) system, which physicians use to dictate notes from a consultation or their interpretation of a test result, also delivers reports through NetDelivery to patients’ other healthcare providers.

Osler has been able to say “goodbye” to their old, time-consuming, manual system for report distribution and delivery confirmation and say “hello” to NetDelivery’s automated capabilities. This has allowed them to reduce the delivery time of patient reports to physicians from weeks to minutes, in most cases. Osler has also been able to reduce printing and postage costs. Most importantly for Osler, NetDelivery confirms report delivery and provides an audit trail for reports that are not delivered successfully.

End-users at Osler have told us the system is very easy to use, and doctors have been receiving reports within minutes of signing off on them. And the faster physicians and other clinicians can get access to patient information, the faster they can provide quality care.

If you’re not familiar with NetDelivery, it securely distributes reports from a healthcare facility’s Healthcare Information System (HCIS) to multiple recipients and locations via fax, encrypted print stream, encrypted file or email, increasing the efficiency of delivering patient information to reduce time and costs and improve patient care.
