Several hospital networks in the UK and other countries were included in the attack. We hope your hospital was not one of them. ## What You Should Do The scale and severity of this attack reminds us of the need to take precautionary steps to prevent such an attack on our own systems — steps such as applying the latest MS system patches, ensuring anti-virus and anti-malware solutions are up-to-date and set up for regular, automatic scanning, and ensuring all email spam filters are up-to-date and real-time scanning of email attachments is enabled. ## Protecting Your Data You also want to ensure that your patient data is secure yet still accessible during such an attack.
