Upper Chesapeake Health success with NetFax leads to more Interbit Data Products

Upper Chesapeake Health (UCH) is a multiple site community based medical institution serving Harford County, Maryland. A major component of UCH is the new state of the art Upper Chesapeake Medical Center located in Bel Air, Maryland. On the same campus is UCH’s Ambulatory Care Center of Harford County housing physician offices, outpatient imaging and laboratory facilities, Upper Chesapeake Cardiovascular Institute, Upper Chesapeake Surgical Pavilion and the administrative offices of UCH.

UCH is a prominent organization employing 2500 healthcare professionals in one of their several locations including Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Harford Memorial Hospital, Upper Chesapeake St. Joseph’s Homecare, Harford Hospice or the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation. UCH has been offering excellence in medical care to the community for more than 90 years. Over the years they have become known as a technologically advanced organization staying abreast of the new technology and medical advancements available.

NetFax’s success prompts UCH to expand their suite of Interbit Data products

UCH has had NetFax in place since 2002 and recently purchased NetAccess, MPrint and Distribution Wizard. “We turned to Interbit Data for our technology needs based on our experience with NetFax. We have been extremely pleased with the product and expect the same level of quality from the recent portfolio of solutions we have invested in”, commented Rick Casteel, Vice President of IT at UCH.

Increase in demand for remote access capabilities

UCH’s need for remote access to their Health Information System had been growing at an increasingly significant rate. The system in place was no longer effective and they were in need of a secure, proven method that could provide the partners access to the necessary data to take care of patients. NetAccess is the perfect solution to achieve their goals. “NetAccess is not only simple to use in conjunction with the customer base it is also extremely manageable and cost effective”, stated Rick.

Easy to use and highly effective in obtaining remote access within Health Information Systems

UCH looked at competitor products in hope of finding the most suitable product for their needs. Rick noted that he did look at other products, but they required additional layers of products and hardware. “Interbit Data provided the most elegant and cost effective solution “, commented Rick. He also mentioned that he is looking forward to familiarizing himself and his colleagues with the recently implemented products.

UCH has been extremely pleased with all aspects of Interbit data. Rick spoke of how he has gotten to know the Interbit Data employees and what a great company it is to work with. He is anticipating that all of UCH’s remote access needs will be met through the use of NetAccess. Already at this early point in implementation, Rick said that he could not imagine being without NetAccess.
